Join us for an exclusive Whiskey Masterclass with Shortcross Founder, Master Distiller, and Blender, David Boyd Armstrong, on August 14th at 7:30 pm in Russell’s Saloon. David has played a key role in shaping Ireland’s spirits sector, serving as Vice Chair and later Chair of Drinks Ireland, where he advocates on global quality, branding, trade and policy for Geographic Indicator protection. This is a rare opportunity to explore some of the finest craft whiskey currently being produced in Ireland. Shortcross hosts only a limited number of tastings each year, as the team is deeply immersed in creating world-class whiskies, gins and other spirits at their home, Rademon Estate Distillery in County Down. Founded in 2015 by David and Fiona Boyd Armstrong, Shortcross began distilling on Ireland’s smallest copper pot still and has since earned a reputation for rich, full-bodied whiskeys crafted with local ingredients and passion. From mash bills to maturation, every detail is carefully considered to deliver maximum flavour. This masterclass will feature expressions such as the Shortcross Single Malt and Rye & Malt, both of which are double distilled, aged in select casks, and non-chill filtered with natural colour. You will also sample their Single Pot Still whiskey, which continues a proud Irish tradition with a modern twist. Shortcross rarely hosts society tastings, so do not miss this unique opportunity to experience their story and spirits firsthand. The tasting will include four core expressions and two cask samples drawn directly from the cask at natural cask strength.
